This week, immigration agents swept through California neighborhoods — from San Diego to the Central Valley — in what sources are calling “Operation Safe California.” Advocates say at least 100 people were detained in three days in the San Joaquin Valley alone.
Behind every one of those numbers is a family. A mother waiting by the door. A child asking when dad is coming home. A kitchen table with an empty chair.
We see you. We have not forgotten you. And our hearts are with every family living through this right now.
No family should have to live in fear of a knock on the door. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, no matter where they were born.
To the families: you are not alone. Your community stands with you.

These are the words of the video that inspired this message: “To all the children who have been kidnapped, to all the children who are being subject to the horrible conditions in these detention camps, to the families who have been ripped apart, to the immigrants who are too scared to walk outside of their own home, to the humans, humans who are being treated like animals.”
Inspired by the video’s closing words: if you are eligible to vote, please register and make your voice heard — vote for those who cannot vote. Think of the children who don’t have a voice in this election. Be their voice.
